  5. Mary O'Neil - February 25, 2011

Y for All Chairpersons Terry Beaton and Mary O’Neil and Honorary Chairman Representative Brian Dempsey cordially invite you to attend the Haverhill YMCA’s 2011 Y for All Campaign Kick-Off

Join us for a complimentary breakfast at the Haverhill Country Club on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 from 8:00am-9:30am.

If you decide to attend, please know that there will be no pressure to make a donation. This event is about telling the story of the Y, which is a story of true compassion and commitment. I for one did not fully comprehend the enormous impact the Y has in our community, on our families, and in our schools until I became a member of the Y Board three years ago.

We view this event not so much as a “fundraiser” but rather a “friend-raiser,” and I sincerely hope you will join us!

If you plan to attend, please call Tracy Fuller at 978-374-0506 or email at fullert@northshoreymca.org

Pepsi is giving away millions of dollars to “Refresh” our communities. St. Joseph’s School playground project H.O.P.E. is one of the projects in contention for $50,000 in the month of May.

The way we win is by voting. The top ten ideas that the get the most votes each win $50,000; it is really that simple. Here is how you vote…
#1: Vote on the Pepsi Refresh site:
    • If you haven’t already done so, please go to the Pepsi Refresh site and register.
    • Click the Browse Ideas and Vote button.
Click Join Refresh Everything in the lower left corner of the screen.
    • The St. Joseph School Playground page address is: http://www.refresheverything.com/stjosephschoolplayground
    • Once you land on the Pepsi Refresh SJS page, click the Vote for This Idea button on the right side of the screen.
    • Enter the email address and password you used to register, and click Sign In.
PLEASE NOTE! YOU MUST CLICK THE VOTE FOR THIS IDEA BUTTON AGAIN
after you signed in. Your vote did not count until you see Pepsi’s Thank you message.

#2: Vote on the Pepsi site using your Facebook account.
    • Close your browser and re-open it.
    • Return to the Pepsi Refresh page by clicking: http://www.refresheverything.com/stjosephschoolplayground
    • Click “Vote For This Idea” or “Sign In.”
    • When the Pepsi login window pops up, click the Login with Facebook button in the upper left corner.
    • You will be returned to the St. Joseph School voting page.
    • Click on the “Vote for This Idea” button.

#3: Use your cell phone to text your vote.
    • Text the message: xxxxxxx to 73774. (73774 is the numeric translation for PEPSI.)

    Super Powers!
Pepsi is also giving away Power Votes, here is how that works…

You can look under the cap of specially-marked Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, and Pepsi Max products to get a unique 10 character code. This code is your Power Vote – but it’s not activated until you go to the site and enter it.

So what does a Power Vote do? Well – once you enter the code on RefreshEverything.com, you will find out how much that Power Vote Code is worth. 5 Votes. 10 Votes. 15, 25, 50 Votes. Or, if you’re really lucky – it can be worth 100 votes. Once you figure out how much it’s worth – you can apply those votes to the idea of your choice. One click and up to 100 votes for your favorite ideas. Not bad, right?

Of course – there’s a catch. You need to use your Power Votes by midnight local time on the day you register them on the site. After that – they’re gone. The best part? You can use up to 10 codes within 24 hours (that’s a lot of votes!) So, whether you discovered a Power Vote cap and it brought you here or if you’re a die hard Refresh Project voter looking to step your game up – now you know how!

So start spreading the word to everyone you know who is willing to commit 5 minutes a day to see our project succeed. Post the link on Facebook, send an e-mail, tell your neighbors, everyone because we want to give our kids this playground!!
